PARts leads the “HERD” with the 2024 Seller Data Quality Awards

The inaugural PARts Seller Data Quality Award came out on top and were recognized for leading the way in how they shared proprietary part information with sellers of their products. Product sales correlate with the ability of a channel partner to custom tailor data into high quality rich content unique to each seller’s needs.

The winners were voted on by sellers and measured on their data accuracy, timeliness, completeness, integrity, and use of best practice in terms of specific data delivery to their end users i.e., sellers.

The focus areas mentioned above were used to rate each supplier brand’s content provisioned over the preceding 12-month period of the previous calendar year. Award recipients were identified by leading aftermarket part sellers such as Automotive Super Store, Amazon, Ebay and Repco.

The award leads the way in highlighting robust 2-way data sharing partnerships that enhance commercial opportunities for sellers that in turn benefit their suppliers. As a way towards powering this 2-way data sync, PARts have developed the PARts Herd module.

Herd builds upon a foundation of high-quality data standards as a basic language to transmit additional seller requirements of supplied product data to improve their ability to market aftermarket products on any platform. Specialized seller data templates are the bedrock of this unique product. Sellers can set these expectations for their products while suppliers are able to keep track and trace their requirements at scale. In this way, suppliers know what type of data their various sellers really need including custom and tailored fields and attributes.

Herd works as a layer on top of the PARts Console ecosystem where sellers are first given the chance to publish their expectations via PARts console. These expectations and quality standards can be applied to any product type or category from spark plugs to seat covers and goes beyond fitment.

Providing visibility on seller requirements, gives a supplier the ability to evaluate their data quality and act on it. If a seller has stated something on a certain field as mandatory, standard, or optional; a supplier can go back to the drawing board and tailor their data to better suit their buyer and the market. Seller can turn up their data requirement complexity or alternatively minimize it depending on the product.

To help support this drive into the future, PARts has launched the PARts Plus program that will bring the industry’s leading thinkers and visionaries to share their insights, train their industry peers and brainstorm the best ways forward in pushing the aftermarket industry to better provide choice of repair over OEM. PARts also offers training sessions to any of its industry peers at the Sydney office.

The Seller Data Quality Award is open to any manufacturer or supplier brand, working with leading aftermarket auto part sellers or data receivers supported by PARts that adhere to industry standards. Entities with no affiliation to PARts can also apply to participate in the awards.
